This pattern is published in 52 Weeks of Shawls by Laine Publishing.
The Älv shawl was inspired by traditional Swedish Bohus knitting that combines texture, colourwork and simple patterns. The shawl is knitted in the round using three colours but shaped like a triangular shawl with increases at the sides and the centre. After binding off, it is steeked along the top edge and stitches are picked up to hide the steek. Don’t be afraid to steek! According to Lærke Bisschop-Larsen, it feels like watching a butterfly emerge.
