The Perendale DK is spun from the fleeces of Perendales living freely on the cove and in the hills of Bluff Cove in the Falklands. With so little industry, it is some of the whitest, softest yarn. For this yarn, I was introduced to Kevin and Hattie. As owners of Bluff Cove Farm, they run a large flock of sheep and take visitors to meet the penguins at the lagoon. They live a self-sufficient existence totally off-grid. Electricity to the farm is generated by wind turbines and solar panels, and water is piped from the farm spring.
Non-superwash, nylon-free, spun by the team at John Arbon Textiles and sourced from a renewable energy farm.
