Wheatfield – Poldale 4ply

Wheatfield – Poldale 4ply

The Poldale 4ply yarn is spun from a crossbreed of Polwarth and Corriedale sheep – two beloved breeds known for their softness, bounce, and durability. This particular fleece comes from a small Falklands flock, raised with care on lush pastures and sheared with attention to animal welfare. The resulting yarn is smooth, springy, and delicately plump for a 4ply, making it ideal for garments and accessories with a little structure and a lot of softness. Polwarth lends its silkiness, while Corriedale adds gentle resilience – together, they make something truly special.

Content: 100% Poldale (Polwarth x Corriedale)

Harvest Gold – Perendale DK

Harvest Gold – Perendale DK

The Perendale DK yarn is made from the wool of free-roaming Perendale sheep living in the Falklands’ Bluff Cove. Due to the lack of industrialisation, this yarn is among the softest and whitest available. While searching for fleece, I came across an incredible farm that tends a large flock of sheep and offers visitors the opportunity to meet the penguins at the lagoon. The farm is entirely self-sufficient, generating electricity through wind turbines and solar panels while sourcing water from the farm spring.

Content: 100% Perendale
Weight: 100g

Ochre – Devon 4ply

Ochre – Devon 4ply

Devon 4ply is a yarn I’ve been dreaming of bringing into the studio. Spun from two heritage British breeds that balance softness with strength. Exmoor Blueface lends its fine fibres and gentle drape, while Romney adds body, resilience, and a touch of lustre. Together they create a smooth, rounded yarn that is light in the hand yet strong enough to let lace, bobbles, and textures shine clearly.

This base is a joy to knit with, soft enough for wraps and accessories worn next to the skin, but with the structure to hold its shape in lightweight garments. Each skein has been naturally dyed in my studio, where weld, madder, and indigo bring the palette of late summer and autumn into the wool, shifting gently in the light.

Content: 20% Grey Exmoor Blueface, 80% Romney
Weight: 100g
