Rosewood – Devon 4ply

Devon 4ply is a yarn I’ve been dreaming of bringing into the studio. Spun from two heritage British breeds that balance softness with strength. Exmoor Blueface lends its fine fibres and gentle drape, while Romney adds body, resilience, and a touch of lustre. Together they create a smooth, rounded yarn that is light in the hand yet strong enough to let lace, bobbles, and textures shine clearly.

This base is a joy to knit with, soft enough for wraps and accessories worn next to the skin, but with the structure to hold its shape in lightweight garments. Each skein has been naturally dyed in my studio, where weld, madder, and indigo bring the palette of late summer and autumn into the wool, shifting gently in the light.

Content: 20% Grey Exmoor Blueface, 80% Romney

Gauge: 7 – 8 sts / 2.5 – 3.5mm needles
Recommended Care: Non-superwash yarn, I recommend a gentle, cool hand wash then lay flat to dry.
